CRANDALL, TX – On Monday, October 20, 2025, around 5:00 p.m., a Crandall Police officer responding to a call in the Heartland area struck a juvenile pedestrian while driving northbound on FM 741 with lights and sirens activated.
As the officer approached the intersection of FM 741 and Caribou Lane, two juveniles ran into the roadway attempting to cross. The officer swerved to avoid them, but one of the girls, reported to be 13 years old, was struck.
Crandall Fire Department and CareFlite personnel evaluated the teen on scene and determined she did not appear to have major injuries. She refused hospital transport and was released to a family friend.
The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived shortly after the crash and will lead the investigation into the incident.
