Illegal Burn Discovered in Hopkins County Prompts Emergency Response

Hopkins County Sheriff's Office (SO) responded to a significant incident involving a large illegal burn located on County Road 4718, just east of 2653. The sheriff's deputies, upon discovering the unlawful fire, promptly requested the assistance of the local Fire Department to the scene. Stations 20 and 11 were immediately alerted and dispatched to address the situation.

Recognizing the potential risks associated with uncontrolled fires, the Fire Marshal was also contacted to ensure appropriate measures were taken to mitigate the dangers and enforce relevant regulations. The Fire Marshal's involvement aims to investigate the incident and ensure compliance with safety guidelines and laws pertaining to controlled burns.

As the situation progressed, it became evident that additional resources were required. Consequently, Station 13 was notified and mobilized to support the ongoing efforts in addressing the illegal burn.

Local authorities are actively working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
