This morning at 11:25 am, Merit Fire, AMR Hunt County, and Hunt County Sheriff's Deputy responded to a distress call at the Dollar General on FM2194 in Merit.
The urgency stemmed from a report of a child locked inside a running vehicle.
As the first units were arriving, the desperate mother managed to successfully coax the toddler into unlocking the car.
Thankfully, with the situation resolved, all units were notified to disregard the call at 11:29 am, as confirmed by the presence of Merit Fire on the scene.
Swift action and effective communication ensured a positive outcome for the child's safety.
