Lone Oak Lineman Electrocuted While Restoring Power After Severe Weather

Lineman Scott Balentine, who was actively engaged in restoring power to the Rains County community following severe weather, tragically passed away on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred during his work, according to Farmers Electric Cooperative, his employer.

In a statement released by his family's church, New Hope Baptist in Lone Oak, it was revealed that Balentine, who had been serving as a lineman for a decade, was electrocuted while working to address power outages resulting from the recent storm system.

Despite being swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, Balentine did not survive, as confirmed by the cooperative. He is survived by his wife and 12-year-old daughter. The church announced that funeral arrangements will be shared once finalized.
