Kelton Lavon Guiden and Azia Chardae Brigham

On May 9, 2024, Commerce Police Officers conducted a routine patrol in the 2000 block of Mangum Street when they observed a black 2019 Toyota without a front license plate. Acting on this observation, the officers initiated a traffic stop and approached the vehicle's driver, identified as Kelton Lavon Guiden of Glenn Heights. During the interaction, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

Subsequently, all occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. Guiden and passenger Azia Chardae Brigham of Commerce admitted to officers that they had marijuana inside the vehicle. Following this admission, officers conducted a probable cause search and discovered marijuana in the center console of the vehicle and in Brigham’s purse.

As a result, Guiden and Brigham were taken into custody for possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone. Both individuals had their bonds set at $2,500 each.
