On April 30, 2024, Hunt County Deputies arrested Bobby Joe Tipton III of Greenville on charges of Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child under 14 after an investigation was initiated. The charge means that at least two acts of sexual abuse took place at least 30 days apart.
In Texas, the crime is considered to be a super aggravated offense. Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child under 14 carries a punishment range from 25 years to 99 years or life in prison without the possibility for parole.

Tipton is being held in the Hunt County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
