Hopkins County Deputies Apprehend Burglary Suspect After Foot Pursuit

Robert Christopher Wolf II

On Friday, just before 1:00 P.M., Hopkins County Deputies were called to investigate a burglary in the 200 block of CR 1113. Upon arrival, deputies were informed by the complainant that their weekend property had been broken into over the past week. The complainant provided a detailed list of stolen items, including a black and white air conditioning unit.

During the investigation, deputies noticed the absence of tire tracks, suggesting the culprits likely approached on foot and might live nearby. Corporal Davis visited a neighboring residence and noticed an unsecured door. Despite attempts to communicate, no response was received from inside, though the stolen air conditioning unit was visible.

To secure evidence, deputies sought a search warrant. However, they discovered Robert Wolf II inside the residence with his juvenile children, who refused to open the door. When deputies attempted entry, Wolf and his children fled through a window but were later detained. Wolf was arrested for evading on foot.

Following a search with a warrant, deputies recovered stolen property from the burglary, along with illegal substances and firearms. Wolf, 34, from Brashear, Texas, faces multiple charges including burglary, escape, evading arrest, firearm possession by a felon, and possession of controlled substances. He was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center.
