On April 26, 2024, at around 7:10 AM, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distress call from the Houston Place RV Park in Quinlan regarding a theft and assault incident. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male victim suffering from severe injuries.
According to deputies, the victim had confronted individuals attempting to flee with his stolen trailer. In the ensuing confrontation, the suspects ran over the victim with their truck and trailer before fleeing the scene. The abandoned truck and trailer were later found on County Road 3512.
Law enforcement, including K9 units from the Texas Department of Corrections, established a perimeter and conducted a search of the area. One suspect was apprehended on County Road 3505 after an extensive search.
Further investigation led the Hunt County Sheriff's Office to another suspect in the Neylandville area. A warrant was obtained, and the second suspect was taken into custody.
The victim was transported to a hospital in Dallas for treatment of his injuries, the severity of which remains unknown at this time.
Jacob Harrison Pollard of Royse City and Justin Allen Hopkins of Quinlan have been charged with Aggravated Robbery, each with a bond set at $300,000.
