Mesquite Woman Arrested in Hunt County, Charges Include Obstruction and Contraband Possession

Susan Denise Watson

On April 17, 2024, Susan Denice Watson, aged 33 and hailing from Mesquite, found herself in the custody of Hunt County Deputies. The charge against her was Obstruction or Retaliation. Under Texas law, this charge encompasses actions aimed at harming or threatening harm through unlawful means against public servants like judges, witnesses, or law enforcement, either in retaliation or to prevent certain actions.

While being held at the Hunt County Detention Center, Watson faced another legal hurdle. On Sunday, April 21st, authorities discovered an illegal substance in her possession. Consequently, she incurred an additional charge for possessing a Prohibited Substance/Item within a Correctional Facility.

Watson's legal situation was further complicated by the discovery, and her total bond was set at $25,000. However, she managed to secure her release from jail on Monday, April 22nd, after posting bond.
