On the night of May 29, 2023, Caddo Mills Police Sergeant J. Aly responded to a distress call regarding a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 380 and FM 1570.
On arrival, the officer noticed one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames. Next to the burning car, a truck that had been part of the accident contained an elderly woman who was trapped and unable to escape.
With a sense of urgency, Sergeant Aly and an unidentified citizen, who had bravely stepped forward to assist, where able to pull the trapped woman from her vehicle and carry her to safety.
Their heroic actions exemplified the dedication and compassion that law enforcement officers and compassionate citizens alike possess, ultimately ensuring that a life was saved amidst the danger.
