On March 27, 2024, at around 11:10 am, Crandall Police Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 4000 block of Rolling Rock Rd, within the Heartland Community. According to the caller, shots were fired from a passing vehicle towards a residence, hitting the fence.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller nearby. The driver and a passenger were identified, apprehended, and charged with Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm. They were then transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement.
Further investigation led to the recovery of a firearm, which had been reported stolen from Plano. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the incident appears to be an isolated one.
