DPS Trooper Arrests Sulphur Springs Man for his Second DWI

Christopher Glenn Ivey

On March 15th, a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper pulled over a GMC Yukon after observing the driver fail to signal a turn correctly. The driver, identified as Christopher Ivey, emitted an odor of alcohol from his breath. Initially stating he had consumed one beer, Ivey later admitted to drinking two beers upon questioning. The Trooper instructed Ivey to exit the vehicle for a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST's), but Ivey refused to cooperate. Consequently, he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

Following the arrest, a blood search warrant was obtained to collect a blood sample from Ivey. He was then taken to Christus Mother Francis for the blood draw before being returned to Hopkins County Jail.

Christopher Glenn Ivey, 39, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center on charges of Driving While Intoxicated 2nd.
