Motorcyclist Leads Greenville Police on High-Speed Pursuit, One Apprehended

A high-speed pursuit unfolded on Saturday, March 9th, after a motorcyclist evaded Greenville Police Officers who were attempting a warrant arrest related to an assault case and parole violation.

Eyewitnesses reported two motorcyclists involved in the pursuit on I-30. The chase concluded for one of the motorcyclists near Sayle Street close to Phillips Field. Following a crash, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was captured by a K-9 officer.

Identified as 30-year-old Jake Allan Drummond of Garland, the suspect faced charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle. Additionally, he was found to have four outstanding warrants, including one for evading arrest with a vehicle from the Garland Police Department, a release from bond warrant for assault causing bodily injury from the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, and two parole violations from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, respectively. His bond was established at $18,000.

The other motorcyclist managed to evade officers by turning the wrong way into a u-turn on I-30.  Police Officers will usually stop pursuit if the it's too dangerous for other drivers.  The invetigation is ongoing.
