On March 5, 2024, Hunt County Sheriff Deputies apprehended Braden Cole Wainscott, 22, from Quinlan, in connection with theft and fraud. The arrest followed an investigation prompted by a complaint regarding the defrauding of an elderly individual.
Wainscott faces charges of theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000 and forgery with intent to defraud or harm the elderly. His bond has been established at $30,000. Additionally, Wainscott had a warrant issued by the 196th District Court of Hunt County for violating probation. This relates to his previous arrest on August 11, 2022, and subsequent conviction for aggravated assault causing bodily injury. Further, on June 20, 2023, he was detained by Kaufman County Deputies for theft of a firearm.
