Charles Edward Isaac, 44, has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for trafficking drugs in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs today.
Isaac pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on March 4, 2024.
The investigation into Isaac's activities began in March 2021 when federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies launched an operation targeting the distribution of methamphetamine in Newton County, Texas. During the investigation, law enforcement conducted controlled purchases of narcotics from Isaac and executed a search warrant at his residence. The search resulted in the recovery of a firearm and additional narcotics. Isaac has been found responsible for distributing more than 100 grams of methamphetamine throughout East Texas.
The case was investigated by the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Lab, Texas Department of Public Safety, Newton County Sheriff’s Office, and Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Lee prosecuted the case.
