Two Arrested in Sulphur Springs Hotel Drug Bust

Christina Marie Stockton and Tony Andrew Hitt Jr

Sulphur Springs Officers responded to a report regarding alleged drug activity and the presence of young children in a hotel room on Monday, March 4, 2024. Upon arrival, officers encountered Christina Marie Stockton and Tony Andrew Hitt Jr. inside the room. Both individuals allowed the officers to enter and speak with them.

Upon entering, officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana in the room. They also observed a metal tray on the dining table containing a clear baggie of suspected mushrooms and a glass pipe with suspected burnt marijuana. Stockton and Hitt consented to a search of the room, during which officers found a package in the nightstand containing suspected THC gummy.

Due to the proximity of the contraband to two children, aged 4 months and 2 years, Stockton and Hitt were charged with endangering a child. They were taken into custody, and the children were released to the care of their grandmother.

The suspected THC and mushrooms were weighed, with the THC weighing approximately 5.5 grams and the mushrooms approximately 3.8 grams.

Stockton and Hitt face charges including possession of controlled substances and endangering a child.

Stockton faces charges of possession of a controlled substance in varying amounts, while Hitt faces similar charges along with vaccination against rabies and defective tail lamp(s). Both are also charged with endangering a child with intent to return.
