High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest of Commerce Man

Brandon Wayne Clemins

Late on Sunday night, deputies from Hopkins County spotted a car zooming along State Highway 11 at nearly 100 miles per hour, well over the 60 mph speed limit. Deputy Adams tried to pull over the speeding 2016 Ford Fiesta near Highway 11 & CR 4724, activating lights and sirens, but the driver refused to stop.

The car raced through Highway 11 and into Commerce, hitting speeds of 100 mph. The pursuit continued onto Highway 24 and through Commerce's streets until the car finally halted in the 1200 block of Caddo Street.

Officers arrested the driver, 26-year-old Brandon Wayne Clemins of Commerce, Texas, who now faces charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle. Clemins was taken to the Hopkins County Detention Center without further incident.
