Jordan Leigh Perry-Martin

On Friday, March 1, 2024, at around 2:00 pm, Lone Oak Police Department units initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle, which subsequently evaded officers. Lone Oak Police deployed spike strips, successfully puncturing one front tire of the vehicle. Shortly afterward, Point Police Department, Tawakoni Police Department, and Rains County Sheriff’s Department joined in the pursuit.

Officers deployed spike strips, successfully puncturing one of the vehicle's front tires.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 35-year-old Jordan Leigh Perry-Martin from Alba, Texas, was eventually stopped. Despite the successful spike strip deployment, Perry-Martin resisted arrest, leading to a tense standoff.

During the apprehension, Perry-Martin resorted to using a child as a human shield to avoid being forcefully removed from the vehicle.

Fortunately, the child is reported to be safe. Jordan Leigh Perry-Martin has been taken into custody and is currently held in the Hunt County Detention Center. Perry-Martin faces charges including evading arrest detention with a vehicle, abandoning or endangering a child with criminal negligence, and resisting arrest, search, or transport.
