On February 27, 2023, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputies located Jesus Corral-Barriga, in the parking lot of 1135 S Broadway in Sulphur Springs.
Corral was known to have a warrant for his arrest for a charge of Criminal Negligent Homicide. Corral was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to the Hopkins County Jail.
Corral is being held in Hopkins County Jail on a $100,000 bond for one charge of criminal negligent homicide.
The incident is from an accident in May 2019 when Corral-Barriga was 18 years of age. The crash occurred on SH-11. Corral-Barriga and his 17-year-old passenger were injured and transported to Christus Medical Center. The other driver, 40-year-old Rachel M. Harman of Como, lost her life.
