In the early hours of Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Hunt County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance involving weapons at an address on the 7300 block of S. FM 36, Quinlan, TX. Prior to their arrival, authorities were alerted to a possible stabbing at the location.
Upon reaching the scene, deputies identified the suspect in the stabbing as Jose Dejesus Ramirez Jr. of Quinlan. They also found a female victim with stab wounds. Ramirez was apprehended after deputies deployed a taser due to non-compliance and uncertainty about whether he remained armed.
Following medical clearance, Ramirez was taken into custody and transported to the Hunt County Jail. He now faces charges of Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon/Family Member, a first-degree felony. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
