On Monday, February 19, 2024, a Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper on patrol along IH-30 near the 130 mile marker spotted a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta traveling at a high speed. Confirming the vehicle's speed at 90 mph in a 75 mph zone, the Trooper activated emergency lights and pulled the car over near the 129 mile marker.
The driver, identified as Miosha Six Lynette Hicks, admitted to recent marijuana use and handed over a small amount of marijuana from her glove box. Hicks was arrested, handcuffed, and transported to Hopkins County Jail.
