On Monday, February 12, 2024, a dramatic incident unfolded in Hawk Cove as local police attempted to pull over a vehicle, only for the driver to escalate the situation by speeding away. Identified as 26-year-old Jimmy Lee Rollins from Wills Point, the driver led officers on a chase through the area, prompting additional law enforcement units to join in the pursuit.
Despite the efforts of the officers, Rollins continued to evade capture until authorities finally managed to halt his vehicle. However, the confrontation didn't end there, as Rollins resisted arrest both verbally and physically, making the task of handcuffing him challenging. After a struggle, law enforcement successfully subdued Rollins and took him into custody.
Currently, Rollins is being held at the Hunt County Jail on a $30,000 bond. He faces charges of evading arrest detention with a vehicle and resisting arrest.
