Annual City-Wide Spring Clean-Up Scheduled for April 22-27 in Sulphur Springs

Sulphur Springs residents are gearing up for the annual City-Wide Spring Clean-Up, set to take place from April 22nd to April 27th, 2024. During this time, residents will have the opportunity to dispose of large items at the designated city collection site.

Residents can bring their unwanted items for disposal between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the designated clean-up days. The collection site is located approximately a ¼ mile east of Flowserve, on East Jefferson St (Old US Hwy 67).

It's important to note that the Spring Clean-Up Week is exclusively for Sulphur Springs residents and is not intended for commercial purposes. Residents can transport household trash, brush, and larger items that do not fit into their regular trash containers to the dump site once a year.

To ensure eligibility, residents will be asked to provide proof of city residency, such as a driver’s license or a city water bill with their physical address.

Certain items will not be accepted at the collection site, including containers or appliances with hazardous materials. For example, if disposing of a refrigerator, residents must provide documentation showing that the refrigerant has been removed. Additionally, household hazardous wastes such as paint, batteries, and tires will not be accepted.

Residents are responsible for transporting their items to the clean-up site, although city staff will be available to assist if needed and when possible.

The City-Wide Spring Clean-Up provides an opportunity for Sulphur Springs residents to properly dispose of large items and contribute to keeping their community clean and tidy.
