Greenville Man Arrested for DWI, Marking At Least Sixth Offense

Lone Oak Police Officers arrested 38-year-old Derrick James Bonaventure of Greenville on Thursday, February 8, 2024, after he was stopped for erratic driving. During the stop, officers conducted sobriety tests, which confirmed he was driving under the influence. Further investigation revealed that Bonaventure was a repeat offender, with previous arrests for driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Bonaventure faces charges for DWI 3rd or more, indicating multiple prior DWI convictions. Additionally, officers found a significant quantity of drugs in his possession, resulting in an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance PG1/1-B >=4G<200G.

Bond for the drug charge was set at $25,000, but as of the report, no bond had been set for the DWI charge. Bonaventure's history of DWI arrests includes incidents in various Texas counties, including Haltom City, Johnson County, Parker County, and Tarrant County, dating back to 2016.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
