Hunt County Sheriff Deputies apprehended 35-year-old Charles Cody Waidelich of Caddo Mills on February 7, 2024, following an investigation at the 3500 block of County Road 2150. Waidelich faces charges of online solicitation of a minor.
Waidelich, already a registered sex offender since February 3, 2020, due to a prior conviction of online solicitation of a minor involving a 15-year-old female, was arrested originally in 2018. This arrest was part of an undercover operation conducted by the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, targeting individuals using the internet and social media to meet minors for sexual activity. At the time, Waidelich was a U.S. army captain who had been in the military for seven years.
