On January 13, 2024, at around 3:34 am, Greenville Police Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a disturbance in the 3100 block of Poplar Ave. Upon arrival, Greenville Police Officers discovered a domestic assault involving a 19-year-old woman, Jaala Lynne Moore, who allegedly used a pocket knife to stab or attempt to stab a 34-year-old man during a heated argument. The victim's father supported the account, and Jaala Lynne Moore was subsequently taken into custody.
The nature of the relationship between the victim, identified as Joshua Lee Moore, and the suspect was not disclosed by Greenville Police. Jaala Lynne Moore faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is currently held at the Hunt County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
It was revealed that Joshua Lee Moore has a history of previous arrests related to family violence causing bodily injury. Additionally, information obtained from Jaala's Facebook page indicates that she is the girlfriend of Roderick Jackson, who has been reported missing from Greenville since January 6th.
