Cumby City Grapples with Ongoing Water Service Disruption, Bottled Water Distribution in Effect

Residents in Cumby are experiencing  a water service disruption.  

According to a statement from the City of Cumby, bottled water is being provided at the city's maintenance barn.

The water issues began last Wednesday, January 17, 2024 and are attributed to damage caused by hard freezes during the recent extreme cold weather.

On January 18th, Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsom declared an emergency disaster for Cumby. 

The city has faced multiple interruptions in its water service over the past week.  No timetable has been given as to when water service will resume.
