Commerce Police Officers in cooperation with the Mesquite Police Department, arrested 20-year-old Lenarion Niyee Boston of Mesquite on January 19, 2024, at approximately 8:00 at the Culver Crossing Apartments.
Boston is charged with the capital murder of a person between 10 and 15 years of age. The incident occurred on October 16, 2023.
UPDATE:
The Commerce Police Department (CPD) received information that a fugitive wanted for capital murder was hiding out in the Culver Crossing Apartments.
CPD inititated an operational plan to safely bring this fugitive to justice. CPD obtained necessary facts, obatined a 'no-knock' search warrant for persons and coordinated a multi-agency SWAT operation to execute the search warrant.
On Friday, January 19th, at 8:20 pm, Lenarion Boston was apprehended by Hopkings County SWAT and turned over to CPD Officers who executed the capital murder arrest warrant issued by Dallas County. Boston was transported to Hunt County Jail without further incident.
The operation was successful with no exchange of gunfire and no reported injuries.
The community is safer because of the assertive actions of each of the agencies involved.
