97th Annual Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Membership Banquet Celebrates Sweethearts Theme

Hopkins County residents are gearing up for the 97th Annual Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Membership Banquet, set to take place on Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. This year's celebration will be themed "Sweethearts" and will honor individuals and businesses contributing to the community's vibrancy.

The banquet will feature awards such as Citizen of the Year, Woman of the Year, Educators of the Year, Small and Large Business of the Year, and more. Social networking and a cocktail hour will kick off the festivities at 6 p.m., followed by food service at 6:30 p.m. Awards presentations are scheduled to commence at 7 p.m.

Attendees have the option to reserve individual seats at $30 per person or secure a table for 10 at $500. Tables offer preferential seating, name displays, and video recognition during the banquet. With over 7,000 copies distributed to visitors and residents alike, the directory serves as a valuable resource.

Candidate Forum for Texas House District 2 Representative

Raise Your Hand Texas will host a candidate forum for Texas House District 2 Representative. The forum, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the SSISD Auditorium in the Hopkins County Civic Center, will feature candidates Jill Dutton and Brent Money. The focus will be on educational topics, and the public is invited to attend.

Mammography Screenings Offered by Hunt Regional Healthcare

Hunt Regional Healthcare's Tubby Adkisson Mobile Mammography Coach will provide mammography screenings at various locations. Women in need can register for screenings on Jan. 17 at Winnsboro ISD and Jan. 25 at Spring Village Shopping Center in Sulphur Springs. The coach also offers bone density screenings with a physician's referral.

The Mobile Mammography Coach accepts all insurances at Hunt Regional, including Medicare and Medicaid. For those without insurance, a reduced prepaid pricing of $200 is available for a 3D mammogram. Upcoming Ribbon Cutting Events

McAlister’s Deli will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 9 a.m. at their restaurant located at 205 East Shannon Road. Additionally, Deep Routes Coffee and Shop the Springs will celebrate their one-year anniversary with a ribbon-cutting at noon on Friday, Jan. 19, at 215 East Shannon Road. Residents are encouraged to attend and join in the celebrations.
