Greenville 19-Year-Old Man Arrested for Shooting at Peninsula Ranch & Lodge

On Saturday, January 13, 2024, just before midnight, Hunt County Sheriff Deputies and emergency services responded to a disturbance at the Peninsula Ranch & Lodge in Quinlan, near Twin Oaks Road off of FM 2101. The authorities received a report of an individual who had been shot in the hip during the incident.

Upon arrival, units discovered a victim with a gunshot wound to the hip. Hunt County EMS and Cash Fire teams were on the scene promptly to provide essential medical assistance to the injured party.

Following a brief investigation, it was determined that the suspected shooter had fled the scene before law enforcement's arrival. However, through further inquiry, Deputies successfully located the suspect at his residence in Greenville.

Identified as 19-year-old Amari Brown, the suspect was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Hunt County Detention Center. Brown faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, with a bond set at $75,000.

The victim of the shooting was taken to an area hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
