On Saturday afternoon, Commerce Fire responded to a call regarding a possible structure fire in the 1700 block of Park Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-story building emitting smoke.
Acting promptly, Commerce Fire initiated an interior fire attack, successfully extinguishing and gaining control over the fire. Fortunately, no human casualties were reported. However, a dog found inside the house did not survive.
Although Wolfe City Fire and Campbell Fire were initially called in for assistance, their aid was later canceled. Commendations are extended to all the departments involved for their exceptional work in handling the incident.
