The Sulphur Springs Independent School District (SSISD) has formally announced the appointment of Pat Leber as the Chief of Police for the Sulphur Springs ISD Police Department.
Pat Leber had been serving as the Interim Police Chief since September 12th of the current school year. During this period, Leber demonstrated exemplary leadership, working closely with SSISD police officers to enhance campus safety.
"We are pleased to officially appoint Pat Leber as our SSISD Police Chief. He has done a phenomenal job ensuring the safety of our campuses, and we are excited to have him permanently in this role," stated Sulphur Springs ISD Superintendent Deana Steeber, Ed.D.
A brief pinning ceremony for Chief Leber is scheduled to take place at the upcoming board meeting.
Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Chief Pat Leber stated, "I am enthusiastic about taking on the pivotal role of Chief of Police for the Sulphur Springs ISD Police Department. With a deep commitment to ensuring the safety of students and staff, it is my goal to provide and maintain a secure and conducive environment for learning."
Leber outlined his commitment to implementing strategic initiatives aimed at maintaining a safe and nurturing atmosphere within Sulphur Springs ISD. He emphasized collaboration with the school community, law enforcement agencies, and stakeholders to proactively address safety concerns.
"I am poised to lead the Sulphur Springs ISD Police Department in implementing innovative safety measures, building strong partnerships, and fostering a sense of community. I would like to express my gratitude for the overwhelming amount of support from our school community," Chief Leber added.
