A driver was spotted exceeding 95 MPH on the interstate by DPS, with an incorrect license plate display. The individual, Lazarrayah Marie Johnson, was identified through her driver's license.
Upon inspection, the smell of marijuana emanated from the vehicle, and Johnson confessed to smoking it inside. Subsequently, a probable cause search revealed both Ecstasy and marijuana in the car.
Johnson was taken into custody and transported to Hopkins County Jail. Charges include possession of a controlled substance (PG 2, 1-4 grams) and possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces).
Johnson is currently held at the Hopkins County Jail on a $12,000 bond.
