On January 3, 2024, Hopkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on CR 2174. One of the parties in the family disturbance was identified as 33-year-old Blake Morgan Irving of Sulphur Springs.
Upon arrival, deputies were informed that Irving had left the premises, but were able to speak to the victim of the assault. During their investigation, the deputies discovered that Irving and the victim were involved in a dating relationship.
A verbal argument escalated to the point that Irving pulled the victim's hair and twisted her arm, leaving a visible red mark.
Shockingly, the assault occurred while Irving was holding their one-year-old child, putting the child at risk.
Deputies successfully located Irving at a different location on FM 2560 and proceeded to arrest him on charges of Assault causing Bodily Injury Family Member (MA) and Abandoning or Endangering Child (FS).
The authorities have requested a 24-hour hold and an Emergency Protective Order in connection with the incident.
