Arkansas Woman Arrested for Drug Possession at Cumby Rest Area

Olivia Brooke Elliot

On December 10, 2023, deputies from the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office were on routine patrol when the Cumby Police Department received a disturbance call at the I-30 Westbound rest area. Deputies responded to assist and encountered a female individual, identified as Olivia Brooke Elliot, 42, of Little Rock, Arkansas, in the rest area's bathroom. Elliot appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.

Upon questioning, Elliot revealed that she arrived in a black Nissan Altima. Deputies approached the vehicle to make contact with the driver for further investigation. The driver, upon exiting the vehicle, was observed with marijuana in plain view on the driver side door.

Elliot was informed that she would be taken into custody for Public Intoxication. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a bag containing a crystal-like substance, unidentifiable pills, and drug paraphernalia. Elliot claimed ownership of the substance and asserted that the driver was unaware of its presence.

The crystal-like substance, weighing 19.0 grams, was later confirmed to be methamphetamine after field testing at the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office. Olivia Brooke Elliot was transported to the Hopkins County Jail and booked on the following charges:

  1. Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 >4G<200G F(2) DFZ
  2. Public Intoxication (MC)
