On December 5, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Sulphur Springs Police Department responded to a report of possible identity theft at the Red River Credit Union. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual in possession of a driver's license with a mismatched name and license number, along with the use of a social security number not matching the individual's name.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Hopkins County Jail. Interestingly, a vehicle initially reported at the scene had been driven away by an unknown individual before the police arrived.
At the jail, fingerprint analysis revealed the suspect's true identity as Julian Christopher Medina-Montgomery, 22, from Dallas, Texas. Further investigations during the booking process uncovered a baggy containing confirmed powder cocaine in his possession.
Julian Medina-Montgomery faces the following charges:
- Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information <5 SJF
- Possession of Controlled Substance PG1>=1G<4G "F3"
