On December 3, 2023, on US Highway 69 South, just south of Horne Drive, Greenville emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident.
At approximately 5:46 p.m., the Greenville Police Department received reports of the incident and arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, officers discovered a white Dodge Ram pickup in the ditch, having flipped end over end before coming to a stop through a series of barrel rolls.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as Casey Allen Jones, a 38-year-old white male from Weatherford, Texas, was found deceased at the scene. Initial investigations by accident reconstruction teams indicated that Jones had been ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and appeared to have been struck by the same pickup.
In response to the incident, Justice of the Peace Rankin ordered the remains of Casey Allen Jones to be transported to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
