In a somber gathering at Greenville High School, an auditorium filled with mourners remembered Jaylen Moore, the 14-year-old tragically lost to an accidental shooting one week ago.
The incident occurred near Warren Park around 9:45 pm, according to Greenville Police. Friends and teachers of Moore spoke at a vigil, expressing heartbreak and loss.
Despite the sadness, Moore's mother, Jessica Carter, urged attendees to celebrate and honor her son's love for fun rather than dwell on grief.
Addressing the issue of gun violence, one of Moore's teachers spoke directly to his friends during the emotional gathering.
