In the early hours of November 24, 2023, the Quinlan Fire Department responded to a smoke investigation near Highway 276 and FM 36. Upon arrival, heavy smoke was discovered, leading to the identification of a fully engulfed fire in a structure situated in the 6800 block of FM 36.
Given the intensity of the situation, a second alarm was issued. Union Valley Fire, Caddo Mills Fire, Tawakoni South Fire, and Commerce E-Corps Rehab were promptly dispatched to provide crucial assistance.
As the fire rapidly spread, consuming both a trailer home and a travel trailer, additional support became imperative. Tawakoni Fire, Cash Fire, and Hunt County EMS were subsequently dispatched to the scene to bolster firefighting efforts.
In a bid to ensure public safety, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control, temporarily closing FM 36. Fortunately, no major injuries have been reported at this time.
The home in question has been declared a total loss.
