On November 2nd, 2023, the Caddo Mills Police Department received a request for assistance from the Desoto Police Department to execute an arrest warrant in the 100 block of Seabiscuit in Caddo Downs. The subject of the warrant was wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery in Desoto and an unrelated shooting in Dallas County.
Caddo Mills Officers, in collaboration with Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies, Desoto Criminal Investigators, and Dallas County Criminal Investigators, carried out the arrest warrant. The subject initially engaged in a brief standoff with officers but eventually exited the residence voluntarily. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the operation, and the individual was taken into custody without further incident.
To ensure the safety of the community, a portion of Caddo Downs, along with Griffis Elementary, was temporarily closed and placed on lockdown during the execution of the warrant. This precautionary measure was taken to protect the children and the community at large.
