The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late Friday night, March 24, just outside the city limits of Gainesville.
At 11:00pm, multiple emergency responders were called to the area of Farm to Market Road 3902 near County Road 209 just south of Gainesville for a motorcycle accident.
Authorities say a motorcyclist and his rider were traveling at high speeds on the roadway when the operator lost control on a turn and struck a mailbox.
The operator, a 39-year-old man from Denton, and his rider, a 32-year-old woman from Richardson, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
