TERRELL, Texas - Three people were arrested Tuesday after Terrell police executed a narcotics search warrant at a James Street home and seized crack cocaine, marijuana, two handguns and suspected drug-distribution equipment.
Members of the Terrell Police Department Narcotics Unit, assisted by the department's SWAT Team, executed the warrant Sept. 29 at a residence in the 300 block of James Street.
Police said officers found three people inside the home and took them into custody.
During a search of the residence, investigators reported seizing approximately 13.66 grams of crack cocaine and 4.88 ounces of marijuana. Officers also recovered $577 in cash and two handguns.
Plastic bags, digital scales and other items that investigators said are commonly associated with preparing and distributing illegal drugs were also found inside the residence.
Police identified those arrested as Kelvin Bernard Porter, 26, of Terrell; Justice A. Williams, 27, of Dallas; and Treasure B. Hill, 23, of Wills Point.
Porter was charged with manufacture or delivery of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance weighing at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams and possession of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance. He was also arrested on an outstanding Terrell Police Department warrant.
Williams and Hill were taken into custody on outstanding warrants from Terrell police and other local law enforcement agencies. Police did not identify the offenses associated with those warrants.
The department's announcement did not indicate that Williams or Hill had been charged with offenses related to the drugs or firearms recovered during the search.
