ROCKWALL COUNTY, Texas - Two people were stabbed and a suspect died from apparent self-inflicted injuries following a barricade situation at a Rockwall County home Monday morning, September 28th.
Rockwall County Sheriff's deputies and Fate police officers responded about 10:45 a.m. to the 600 block of Alexander Lane after a woman called the Rockwall County Emergency Communications Center and reported that her son had cut her.
A second 911 caller reported that a man had also been stabbed.
When first responders arrived, they found both victims outside the residence. Rockwall County EMS treated the male victim at the scene before transporting him to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. The woman was treated and released at the scene.
Authorities did not release information about the male victim's condition or identify either victim.
The suspect remained inside the residence and refused commands to come outside, prompting the Rockwall County Emergency Response Team to begin an operation to take him into custody.
When team members entered the home, they found the suspect suffering from what authorities described as apparent self-inflicted injuries.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
