Little Rock Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Drug Trafficking in East Texas

Nicholas Iron Wilson, 27, from Little Rock, Arkansas, has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs today.

Wilson pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.

According to court documents, on September 15, 2021, Wilson was stopped by law enforcement officers near a truck stop in Cleveland, Texas. During the stop, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from Wilson's vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two large plastic bags on the back floorboard containing 596 grams of methamphetamine. Wilson was indicted and charged with federal drug trafficking violations.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Anderson.
