In response to the expanding needs of its growing community, the City of Greenville has established the new Community Engagement Department. This department will consolidate various sectors including Communications, Tourism, Main Street, and the Greenville Municipal Auditorium (GMA) to enhance citizen-city interactions and promote local development.
Heading this new initiative is Micah McBay, former Venue and Tourism Manager, who has been appointed as the department director and will continue to oversee the GMA on behalf of the city. McBay brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, ensuring the successful integration of the department's functions.
Joining the team is Stacy Foley, Greenville’s new Tourism Manager, who assumed her position on September 25, 2023. Stacy, a lifelong Greenville resident, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M University in Commerce. With her deep-rooted passion for Greenville, Stacy aims to transform the city into a premier destination for weekend getaways. She envisions highlighting the town's unique aspects and attractions, drawing visitors from near and far.
Madison Cornwell, the newly appointed Main Street Manager, brings her expertise from her previous role as Main Street Manager for the City of Denison. A graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Public Relations, Madison is a proud East Texas native. She is enthusiastic about making positive changes within the community, leveraging her knowledge and skills to enhance Greenville's Main Street area.
In response to the evolving communication landscape, the City of Greenville has also welcomed Sarah Friend as the new Communications Manager. Sarah, a graduate of Liberty University with a background in Biblical Studies and Marketing, moved to Greenville in July with her family. She is dedicated to enhancing communication with citizens in innovative and engaging ways. Sarah's passion for the city's growth and development will undoubtedly bring fresh perspectives to the community.
