At 4:16 am on March 15th, Gainesville FD and PD responded to a crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 in the city limits of Gainesville, just south of the Texas and Oklahoma border.
Preliminary details indicate a pedestrian attempted to cross the interstate on foot, but was struck by a northbound 18-wheeler. The pedestrian, identified as a 38-year-old Gainesville man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler stopped to render aid. He was not seriously hurt.
Charges, if any, have not been released.
