On August 26, 2023, authorities from the Sherman Police Department responded to a distressing incident involving a 6-month-old child at Wilson N Jones Hospital. The infant had sustained severe and unexplained injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Sherman Detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for 39-year-old Shirley Salas, a resident of Sherman. The warrant was issued on the grounds of "Injury to a Child." Authorities intensified their efforts to locate and apprehend Salas.
On August 30th, law enforcement successfully located and arrested Shirley Salas without any confrontation. She was taken into custody and subsequently transported to the Grayson County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
