A 22-year-old man from Mount Pleasant, identified as Javier Villarreal Amador, has been apprehended by the Camp County Sheriff’s Department on August 24 and now faces charges of aggravated kidnapping.
According to Sheriff John Cortelyou, the incident unfolded on July 20 when Deputy Andrew Cox was dispatched to Walker Creek Apartments in response to reports of a female being held against her will by Amador. Investigator Tim Hall was also called to the scene, where it was discovered that the suspect had already fled.
During the investigation, Hall conducted interviews with both the victim and another individual who had provided Amador with transportation to Mount Pleasant. It was revealed that the victim had suffered multiple injuries allegedly inflicted by Amador. These injuries included recent wounds from being struck with a pistol, as well as older injuries from previous assaults.
Amador’s bond was set at $20,000.
