Texarkana Police have taken Larry Bell, Jr., 18, into custody for the alleged Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The arrest was made on Friday, August 25, 2023.
The incident came to light on August 10 when authorities were dispatched to a local hospital's emergency room to meet with the mother of an 8-year-old girl. According to the victim's mother, her daughter had disclosed that Bell assaulted her during a babysitting session at his residence earlier in the month. The case was immediately taken up by Detective Cliff Harris.
Subsequent to a comprehensive inquiry and a forensic interview conducted at the Children's Advocacy Center, Detective Harris collected enough evidence to secure a warrant for Bell's arrest. The warrant was obtained last week.
Larry Bell, Jr. was apprehended and taken into custody on the evening of August 25. He has been booked into the Bi-State Jail, where he is currently detained pending further legal proceedings.
