August 9
Deputy Hughes carried out a welfare check on Hwy 80 after concerns were raised about malnourished dogs and the property owner's well-being. Evidence of care for the dogs was presented, and the situation will continue to be monitored.
Responding to a theft on County Road 2332, Deputy Hughes found that a victim who had been hospitalized reported missing items, including a firearm, tools, and cash. The case has been referred for further investigation.
During a routine traffic stop on County Road 4186, Deputy Hughes arrested Jason Hood for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after he refused to perform field sobriety tests.
August 10
Deputies responded to a disturbance on County Road 2944 involving a recently released hospital patient who needed a place to stay. Later, the same individual caused a disturbance at a friend's house.
In Quitman, deputies responded to a request for assistance from a woman concerned about her husband's suicidal comments during an argument. The husband confirmed he was not a threat to himself.
Deputies provided assistance at a vehicle collision scene, offering aid as needed.
August 11
Deputy Croney investigated a reported theft on FM 1801, where a lawn mower had been stolen from a property.
Responding to a burglary report in Yantis, Deputy Pollard found that two buildings had been broken into. The property owner chose not to pursue charges in this instance.
Deputy Way was dispatched to a case of criminal mischief on County Road 2482, where a gas tank had been tampered with. The victim expressed intent to press charges.
Sgt Williams apprehended David Herrera for assault after an altercation involving a dog and chickens turned violent.
Sgt Williams also responded to a case of criminal mischief on County Road 1941, where a truck was damaged by an ex-spouse who had trespassed on the property.
August 12
Sgt Morrison responded to an assault at Holiday Villages involving two minors. The incident resulted in a physical altercation, but the suspect was not located.
Deputy Pollard took reports of theft, including a vehicle taken without permission after breaking down, and a motorcycle stolen from a storage building.
Deputy Smith made an arrest during a traffic stop on Hwy 154, apprehending Erik Strother for tampering with physical evidence after he discarded a suspicious substance.
August 13
Sgt Morrison and Corporal Cooper responded to a call involving a subject making threats of self-harm. The subject was transported for treatment after authorities determined they did not possess a firearm.
Corporal Croney investigated a theft on Hwy 182 where buildings were broken into, and two trailers were stolen from the property.

August 14
Deputy Rapp issued a criminal trespass warning to a former tenant attempting to retrieve property on FM 3056.
Deputy Comeaux responded to an assault incident at Lake Quitman, where an altercation escalated involving a bat, although the victim chose not to pursue charges.
Sgt Mayer was called to a fire on FM 288, where coordination with local fire services was established to prevent further escalation.
August 15
Deputy Rapp investigated a case of attempted scam on County Road 3589, where a victim was instructed to make a payment for a false Amazon balance.
Responding to a burglary report on County Road 2700, Deputy Rapp found no further law enforcement action required after a second call clarified the situation.
Deputy Rapp provided assistance in an eviction situation in Hawkins, where a victim's property had been left by the roadside and subsequently taken by others.
